My Qualifications
In 2013, I earned my Master Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. During that time I was trained to observe human behavior to understand how cognitive and psychological theories help me understand how to use evidenced base methods to support clients as they work through issues that are preventing them from being their best selves. Since 2013, I have worked within the Charlottesville area providing counseling for children, young adults and adults. In 2017, I completed the intensive training and earned my License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW).
A person is not a diagnosis; however, I am often asked what diagnoses I am trained to work with. In response, I say that I am trained to work with people who struggle with unhelpful thoughts which prevents them from effectively interacting within their environment. To give this a label it would be Attention Deficit Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Personality Disorders, Trauma Disorders, and Gender issues.
